Whether you’re new to Dubai or are just looking for a new dentist, we promise to make you feel comfortable on your first visit and all your appointments after that. Our team members are always available to answer any questions about your dental needs and the services we can provide for your optimal treatment.

The first appointment typically takes between 30 to 40 minutes for adults and between 20 to 30 minutes for children.

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT

When you call our clinic to make an appointment, we will ask you for the following information:

    • The reason for your visit, to be able to offer the best solution.
    • have you been referred to any of our doctors – if not, do you have a preference (male doctor or female doctor, language preference).
    • Covid-19 screening – if your answers are negative we will take your booking

    • Your name / DOB / mobile number we can reach you on / insurance company name (we operate on reimbursement basis / pay & claim)

If you have any recent x-rays, kindly email them to us on clinic@germandent.com or bring them with you to the clinic (if on a CD)

!!! 1 – 2 days prior to the scheduled date, you will receive a message from us to reconfirm your booking. It is important that you reply within the given time

YOUR FIRST VISIT

The Day of the Appointment

Please arrive on time and alone, unless you are the guardian of a child or a caregiver. This helps minimise the time you spend with other patients in the waiting room.

 

What Should I bring with me to the Clinic?

  • a valid form of ID – passport, driver’s license, EID or other
  • a list, soft or hard copy, of any current medications you are taking along with the dosage
  • copies of your x-rays

 

Before entering the clinic, kindly wear shoe & head covers and kindly wait for one of our staff to help you get dressed with our protective clothes.

Once ready, you can proceed to the reception to complete your registration, in case you didn’t already fill it online prior to the visit.

Once completed, our dental assistant will invite you to the treatment room to get you ready for the consultation and examination with the dentist.

What Should I bring with me to the Clinic?

We offer our patients free parking. When you arrive at Tiffany Towers, please give us a call on 04-3794722 and we will assist you with parking, located on the ground level (behind JBC 5 Business Centre).

Tele Dentistry

Tele dentistry offers patients services over the phone or through Zoom calls. This can vary from emergency cases to general consultation.

During the lockdown period, our tele dentistry services were very handy, enabling us to stay in touch with our patients and serve them as much as possible through calls &/or Zoom calls.

Should you choose to discuss any concern online instead of face to face, please let us know so we can arrange it. Depending on the duration of the call, charges may vary from free to a reasonable fee.

In many cases, tele dentistry is offered as a combination with in person visit, in order to reduce the time spent in the clinic and increase the efficiency of the treatment. We therefore encourage you to take advantage of our tele dentistry services whenever possible.

What happens on my First Visit?

What is comprehensive dental examination?

If it has been a while since you’ve seen a dentist, your visit will involve a comprehensive dental exam, during which your dentist will inspect your teeth and mouth for any potential problems, such as tooth decay, gingivitis, and periodontal disease (commonly known as gum disease). We will also do neck & head examination as well as oral cancer screening. In most cases, an x-ray is taken, which helps the dentist have a clear picture of what’s going on inside your mouth. He or she will also talk with you about any problems you’ve been experiencing, such as toothaches, sensitivity, or cosmetic concerns.

Following the dental exam, your dentist will put together an individual treatment plan designed to improve your oral health.

Why do I need new X-Rays?

Unless you have shared your dental records from another dentist office with us, your first dental appointment will almost certainly include new X-rays. They help the dentist look for decay (cavities) or other oral health problems that cannot be seen during the clinical exam. Bitewing and periapical (pa) X-rays are taken and used to detect tooth decay (cavities), gum disease, bone loss, and infection, while panoramic X-rays (sometimes referred to as “pan”) are used to check for impacted teeth, bone abnormalities and more. 3D Cone Beam Scan: In as little as 14 seconds, we can obtain a full scan of your mouth, face and jaw. The superior level of detail of all your teeth, roots, and surrounding structures allows for improved diagnosis and treatment planning.

For your protection, you’ll be fitted with a lead apron to reduce radiation exposure. At GDNC we use more advanced digital X-rays, which allows us to reduce radiation exposure.

I’m scared of dentists. How can you help with my anxiety?

If you are nervous about going to the dentist, you’re not alone. You may be scared the visit might hurt. We at GDNC will make sure your dental and your emotional health are taken care of. Our team practices gentle dentistry and our approach is built around four key areas: dental skill; investment in new technologies; the techniques we use; and the overall patient experience.

For those who find it hard to relax in the chair, we offer various calming activities that meet their individual needs (TV with your own choice of movies or series, and a music gallery with ear pods to eliminate any dental noise), Nu Calm (a clinical system designed to help your mind and body relax naturally within just minutes) and laughing gas!

If you know your anxiety level increases while in the waiting room, please do inform us prior to your visit, and we’ll be happy to bring you straight through to the treatment room.
